Rakecia Jenkins is the head coach of the Panther Women’s Volleyball team. She is a mother of 2 athletic
sons and a 6th grade teacher at KIPP One Academy in West Humboldt Park in Chicago, IL. Coach Jenkins
was an athlete herself. She has played volleyball since she was 9 years old. She played club volleyball on
the high school and college level. Coach Jenkins has been coaching volleyball for the past 10 years. She
started coaching boys’ volleyball for Rich Township High School in 2011. She was the assistant coach
there for 8 years. While coaching boys, she became the head girls volleyball coach, and coached them
for 3 years. She has also coaches for the 17s team for Club 360 Sports Academy in Hyde Park. In 2021
she was hired as the head coach of Olive Harvey College women’s volleyball program. Coach Jenkins is
quoted to say, “Coaching on the college level, is probably one of the best decisions I have ever made
