This will be Coach Romel Bryant’s first year on the Olive-Harvey Coaching Staff. Coach Bryant was honored by The Illinois Basketball Coaching Association as a “Coach of the Year” in 2021. He coached his semipro team, the Chicago Ballers, to a PBL Divisional Championship (2022).
Coach Bryant has earned various accolades as a High School coach such as Regional Championships (2012 & 2013), Sectional Championships (2012 & 2013), Super Sectional Championships (2012 & 2013) and a State Finals appearance with Seton Academy. He holds the record for the most wins and highest winning percentage in Epic Academy History. He took over a winless program at Horizon Science Academy and transformed them to Conference Champions within two seasons.
Before a career ending injury, Coach Bryant was ranked among the top players in Chicago, and was a standout high school basketball player at Hales Franciscan. He played college basketball under legendary Coach Bill Knapton at Beloit College.
