Edmond Pryor has been hired as the head coach of the Wilbur Wright College men’s basketball team. Pryor replaces Michael Harris, who resigned in March after nine seasons.
Although Pryor is entering his first season with the Rams, he is no stranger to City Colleges of Chicago basketball as he served as an assistant coach at Malcolm X College from 2012-17.
Before joining the Malcolm X staff, Pryor spent four years at Providence-St. Mel School, where he was the head coach of the middle school team as well as a varsity assistant from 2008-12.
Pryor experienced success coaching at the AAU level, capturing the 17-U national championship with Full Package in his first season with the team in 2014. After concluding his stint with Full Package in 2015, Pryor transitioned to his current position with All In Athletics’ 17-U team in 2016.
Pryor got his start in coaching back in 2000 when he formed the Dynasty team, which still competes in Pro-Am leagues.
A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Pryor earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He then received a master’s degree in information technology with a concentration in internet security from American InterContinental University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in education with a focus on athletic administration at Northcentral University (Ariz.).
