CHICAGO – Two former City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) student-athletes have signed letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year colleges.

Mohamed Alkadi (Marshall H.S./Oklahoma City, Okla.), a two-year member of the Olive-Harvey College men’s basketball team, is now attending Notre Dame College (Ohio), while Larry Ngomsu Foyet (Douala, Cameroon/Ambhrouet H.S.), who competed on the Malcolm X men’s soccer team in 2019, transferred to St. Cloud State University (Minn.).

As a sophomore in 2019-20, Alkadi averaged 8.3 points and led Olive-Harvey in both rebounding and blocks, chipping in 5.9 and 2.0 per game, respectively.

A 6-foot, 8-inch forward, Alkadi produced career highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds en route to posting his first collegiate double-double in a CCC victory against Richard J. Daley College on Jan. 30, 2020.  Alkadi’s five blocks versus Harry S Truman College on Feb. 11, 2020, were a personal best as well.

Alkadi averaged 1.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 2018-19.

Along with his successes on the basketball court, Alkadi also was a standout in the classroom, earning an Associate in General Studies degree in May and nearly qualifying for the NJCAA Academic Award.

Notre Dame is an NCAA Division II college located in South Euclid, Ohio.  The Falcons belong to the 12-team Mountain East Conference.

Ngomsu Foyet spent the 2019 season at Malcolm X, where he produced three goals in 12 matches.  Ngomsu Foyet, who was utilized as a forward, also amassed 19 shots.

A freshman, Ngomsu Foyet tallied his first two goals in back-to-back games last fall, connecting in victories over Bryant & Stratton College (Wis.) (Aug. 24)) and Daley (Aug. 28).  His third marker came against Carl Sandburg College (Sept. 25).

Ngomsu Foyet will be part of history at St. Cloud State as he will be a member of the school’s inaugural men’s soccer team, which will be an NCAAA Division II affiliate and the state of Minnesota’s first NCAA II program.  Due to the coronavirus, the start of the season has been delayed.
