General 8/21/2024 4:17:01 PM Student-Athletes Named to NJCAA All-Academic Teams The NJCAA has announced its 2023-24 All-Academic Teams, recognizing 12,245 student-athletes across the country for their exceptional academic achievements. These student-athletes have demonstrated their commitment to excellence in the classroom, achieving a GPA of 3.60 or higher. Among the honorees are several standout student-athletes from the City Colleges of Chicago. From Olive-Harvey College, Roberto Maldonado and Jorge Zavala, both from the Panthers baseball team, earned prestigious First Team honors with perfect 4.0 GPAs. Cassandra Baily (women's basketball), Lucciano Basile (men's basketball), Kamaya Brame (women's volleyball), and Dylan McGee (baseball) were named to the Second Team. Ryan Burgess (men's basketball) received Third Team recognition. Malcolm X College also had representation with Daniel Palacio from the Hawks men's soccer team securing a First Team spot, while teammate Edwin Rivas earned a place on the Third Team. From Daley College, Marjoni Tate Jr. (men's basketball) was recognized on the Second Team, and Roman Zamara Perez (men's soccer) made the Third Team.
