Malcolm X launched its 2025-26 men’s basketball season in emphatic fashion Tuesday night, rolling past CBG Prep 98-60 behind a balanced offensive attack and dominant rebounding.
Arnas Samaitis powered the Hawks with a game-high 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting and added six rebounds. Juaquin Dixon filled the stat sheet with 15 points, five assists and three boards, while Karim Lebon-Mohamed came off the bench to score 13 points and dish three assists.
Cortez Able controlled the paint, posting a double-double with 10 rebounds and eight points, and Sam Vil contributed nine points and a team-high eight assists. Aaron McClure added 10 points and four rebounds to round out Malcolm X’s top performers.
The Hawks shot 52.9% from the field and dominated the glass with 39 rebounds, turning defense into transition opportunities throughout the night. Malcolm X led 47-27 at halftime and never looked back, outscoring CBG Prep 51-33 in the second half.
