MBB: Hawks Roll Past Jaguars

CHICAGO — Malcolm X put together its most complete offensive performance of the young season on Saturday, lighting up the scoreboard in a 100–53 win over Governors State JV. The Hawks shot 54% from the floor, dominated the glass, and controlled the game on both ends to move to 2–2.

From the opening tip, Malcolm X played with pace and purpose, racing out to a 49–29 halftime lead behind crisp ball movement and balanced scoring. The Hawks finished with 20 assists on 39 made field goals and had seven players score eight or more.

Joaquin Dixon powered the starting group with 17 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, setting the tone with efficient shot-making and steady leadership. Denyell Rush caught fire from deep, hitting 3-of-4 from beyond the arc on his way to 13 points.

Off the bench, the Hawks were relentless. Aaron McClure delivered a huge lift with 12 points and 10 rebounds, notching a double-double in just a handful of minutes. Gabe Jackson added eight points and four assists, while Karim Lebon-Mohamed and Jymier Garry-Shields combined for 19 more.

Malcolm X’s defense was equally assertive, forcing 11 steals and turning stops into instant transition offense. The Hawks also owned the boards, winning the rebounding battle 51–0 on the official stat sheet.

By the time the second half rolled around, the Hawks were in full control, outscoring Governors State JV 51–24 and pushing the margin to nearly 50.
