CHICAGO — Olive-Harvey’s offense clicked from start to finish on Saturday afternoon, powering the Panthers to a 77–72 win over Sauk Valley in a fast-paced battle at home. The victory pushes the Panthers to 5–1 and showcased the team’s depth, efficiency, and late-game composure.
Olive-Harvey shot a blistering 57% from the field and got double-figure scoring from four players, overcoming Sauk Valley’s 48–34 rebounding edge. Every possession mattered in a tight contest, and the Panthers repeatedly answered with strong guard play and clutch free throws down the stretch.
Lawrence Etling Jr. led all scorers with 20 points, attacking the paint and knocking down 7-of-10 at the line. Marcus Browder was steady and explosive when needed, finishing with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting while adding six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Terrence Shannon delivered one of the game’s most complete performances, stuffing the stat sheet with 11 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and five steals. His playmaking kept Olive-Harvey in control during several key second-half sequences.
Off the bench, Kingston Caldwell and Jedidiah Adesoji Johnson combined for 26 critical points. Caldwell provided an instant lift with 13 points, while Adesoji Johnson matched him with 13 of his own and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
Olive-Harvey’s efficiency proved to be the separator. The Panthers committed only nine turnovers, compared to Sauk Valley’s 26, and converted 21-of-30 from the free-throw line to hold their advantage late.
