Denyell Rush added 17 points on efficient 5-of-13 shooting with six free throws, while Sam Vil contributed six points, eight assists and four steals for the Hawks, who led 45-42 at halftime and withstood a late Highland push. Jymier Garry-Shields chipped in seven points and two steals off the bench, Aaron McClure provided six points, seven rebounds and three blocks, and Arnas Samaitis tallied six points and seven rebounds with two blocks. Malcolm X shot 44.4 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from beyond the arc while blocking 13 shots and forcing 19 turnovers to secure the road victory.
