MBB VIDEO: Malcolm X Tops Truman

CHICAGO — Joaquin Dixon scored 20 points and Malcolm X College forced 23 steals Tuesday night as the Hawks defeated Harry S. Truman College 90-56 in a City Colleges of Chicago men’s basketball game.

Malcolm X (5-2) shot 61.7% from the field (37 of 60) and limited turnovers to eight while dominating the defensive end. The Hawks led 38-28 at halftime and pulled away with a 52-point second half.

Dixon shot 8 of 10 from the floor and added four rebounds and three steals. Arnas Samaitis recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Denyell Rush also scored 12 points, and Gabe Jackson and Karim Lebon-Mohamed each added 10 off the bench.

Malcolm X had seven players with at least two steals and blocked seven shots as a team.
