MBB: Malcolm X Extends Win Streak

CHICAGO — Joaquin Dixon poured in a game-high 27 points with eight rebounds and three steals, and Aaron McClure delivered a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks off the bench as Malcolm X captured their fifth straight win by defeating Triton 70-59 Thursday night.

Denyell Rush added 12 points, Arnas Samaitis contributed eight points with a game-high five blocks and four steals, and Cortez Abel pulled down 11 rebounds for the Hawks, who dominated the glass 48-34 (including 20 offensive boards) and swatted 12 shots as a team.

Terez Holmes led the Trojans with 21 points and eight rebounds in reserve duty, while Keashawn Jordan posted 13 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks, and Saadiq Moore chipped in 10 points.

Malcolm X (6-2) led 28-21 at halftime and answered every Triton run in the second half, holding on despite going just 11-for-24 from the free-throw line to earn the 11-point victory.
