WBB: Historic Season Ends At National Tournament

The Olive-Harvey Panthers’ stellar season came to an end in the first round of the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, falling 92-57 to Eastern Arizona College. Despite finishing their season with a remarkable 33-2 record, the Panthers struggled to find their rhythm against a strong Eastern Arizona team.

Olive-Harvey’s leading scorer, Cashay Dixon, tallied 14 points. Nakia Bardney chipped in with 11 points and 5 rebounds, while Khaniah Gardner led the team on the boards with 11 rebounds to go along with 13 points. Despite these efforts, the Panthers’ offense struggled to connect, shooting just 26.8% from the field and 27.3% from beyond the arc.

Eastern Arizona capitalized on their size and defensive efforts, winning the rebounding battle 58-29 and converting 23 second-chance points. Their balanced attack overwhelmed Olive-Harvey, as the Monsters shot 52.9% from the field and an impressive 63.2% from three-point range.
