CHICAGO — Olive-Harvey pulled away late to defeat Malcolm X 93–80 on Tuesday night at the OHC Gym, fueled by standout performances from Terrence Shannon and Marcus Browder while surviving major scoring bursts from the Hawks’ top weapons.
Shannon led the Panthers with 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists, shooting 8 of 12 from the field and providing a steady offensive presence throughout. Browder added 21 points, five rebounds and four assists, attacking the rim and converting 8 of 9 from the free-throw line.
Olive-Harvey’s depth proved decisive. Kingston Caldwell came off the bench with 13 points and six rebounds, and Jedidiah Johnson added 12 points and seven boards while blocking four shots. Justin Jones chipped in 12 points and hit two 3-pointers, helping the Panthers maintain control in the second half.
Malcolm X countered with strong individual performances of its own. Joaquin Dixon led all scorers with 24 points, going a perfect 8 for 8 from the free-throw line, and Denyell Rush added 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Cortez Abel posted 11 points, eight rebounds and a game-high seven blocks, anchoring the Hawks defensively. Off the bench, Karim Lebon-Mohamed added 11 points and provided a spark in key stretches.
Olive-Harvey shot 53.3% from the field and outrebounded Malcolm X 46–38 while holding the Hawks without a made 3-pointer. The Panthers closed the night with a 56-point second half to secure the win.
