MBB VIDEO: Hawks Top Triton to Claim Title

RIVER GROVE, Ill. — Joaquin Dixon dished a game-high 10 assists with eight rebounds and two steals, and Cortez Abel added seven rebounds and four blocks as Malcolm X College rallied past Triton College 80-79 in the NJCAA Region 4 Men's Championship on Saturday night.

Denyell Rush contributed two rebounds, three assists and a steal, Arnas Samaitis tallied eight rebounds, and Pape Dieng grabbed three rebounds for the Hawks, who overcame a 36-33 halftime deficit with a 47-43 second half while dominating the glass 39-40 and blocking seven shots as a team.

With the victory, Malcolm X advances to host the District Championship against Region 16 Champion Mineral Area College on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
