The Olive-Harvey Panthers continued their undefeated streak, improving to 5-0 with a commanding 73-43 victory over the Prairie State Pioneers on Thursday, November 14th, at home.
Led by the dominant play of Nakia Bardney, who scored a game-high 21 points while grabbing 11 rebounds, the Panthers outmatched the Pioneers on both ends of the court. Bardney's relentless presence on the boards and ability to get to the free-throw line helped Olive-Harvey maintain control throughout the game.
Cashay Dixon also delivered a strong performance, contributing 14 points, including 3 three-pointers, while dishing out 3 assists. Alana Stephens added 11 points and pulled down 8 rebounds, helping to anchor the Panthers' interior defense. Khaniah Gardner was a force in the paint, recording a double-double with 8 points and a game-high 15 rebounds while also collecting 5 assists and 3 steals.
The Panthers jumped out to an early lead, outscoring Prairie State 18-8 in the first quarter and never looked back. They pulled down 58 rebounds including 19 on the offensive boards that led to multiple second-chance opportunities.
The Panthers’ balanced attack and aggressive defense paved the way for another convincing win, as they continue their hot start to the season. They will look to maintain their perfect record in their next matchup at home against South Suburban next Tuesday.
