BB: Historic Season Ends for Olive-Harvey

Olive-Harvey's record breaking season came to a close Friday with a 8-3 loss to Triton at the Region 4 Baseball Tournament in Crystal Lake, IL.

The Panthers 25 wins are the most in school history under second year head coach Jameel Rush.  Individually, sophomores Dawson Bochenek, Christian Ruiz and Alex Las were named All-Region while outfielder Joshua Moore was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Bochenek was among the top offensive players in Region 4 and ranked in the top five in batting average (.426), on-base percentage (.540), slugging percentage (.739) and triples (5).

Ruiz most recently threw a no-hitter against Harper last Saturday.  During the regular season, he was 4-1 with one save.  At the plate, he hit .400 and drove in 31 runs.

Las made All-Region for the second straight year.  The sophomore his .423, drove in 32 runs and led the team with six home runs.

Moore recorded 68 putouts in the field and had three assists while earning a .959 fielding percentage.  At the plate, Moore hit .407 and had four triples and 14 stolen bases.
