South Holland, IL – May 7, 2025 — The Olive-Harvey Panthers opened Region 4 tournament play on Wednesday, but ran into a dominant pitching performance from South Suburban College and fell 10-0 in a five-inning run-rule contest.
South Suburban’s Luka Zakman was nearly untouchable on the mound, tossing a complete-game one-hitter while striking out eight and walking just one. The lone hit for Olive-Harvey came off the bat of Caleb Rhodes, who broke up the no-hit bid and provided the Panthers’ only baserunner of the game.
The Bulldogs steadily built their lead, scoring three runs in the second inning, adding another in the third, and erupting for five more in the fourth to put the game out of reach. Anthony Martinez led the way offensively for South Suburban, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Matthew Santana added two hits and drove in a pair, while Sohrab Rezaei chipped in with an RBI and a stolen base.
The Panthers were unable to mount any offensive momentum against Zakman, who improved to 8-2 on the season with the win.
