WVB: Malcolm X vs. Lincoln Trail

ROCKFORD, Ill. — The Malcolm X College Hawks battled through three competitive sets but ultimately fell to Lincoln Trail College 3-0 (25-5, 25-11, 25-12) on Aug. 24 at the Rockford tournament.

Despite the loss, several Hawks turned in determined performances. Kamiya Butler led the way with 3 kills on 9 attempts (.222), 7 assists, and 8 digs, while also contributing 5 service aces to spark the offense. Ameria Leonard added 6 kills on 12 swings (.500) and served up 2 aces, providing a steady presence at the net.

Zoe Richards chipped in with 3 kills and 8 digs, and Tamar Callender added 4 kills and 2 aces. The Hawks also got a lift from Aisha Drammeh, who posted 2 kills on just 2 attempts for a perfect hitting percentage.
