WBB: Kennedy-King Stays Undefeated

Chicago, IL - The Kennedy-King College Statesmen maintained their undefeated start on November 15, 2025, defeating the Prairie State College Pioneers 72-62 in women's basketball action at Kennedy-King Gymnasium. Kennedy-King built a 35-29 halftime lead and held off a competitive effort in the second half, showcasing strong interior play and defensive stops to move to 5-0 on the season.

Guard Destiny Taylor dominated with a game-high 22 points on efficient 11-of-15 shooting, adding a double-double with 11 rebounds, one block, and one steal. Guard Kaylah Cherry contributed 17 points on 5-of-16 field goals (1-of-4 from three) and 6-of-7 free throws, with two steals. Guard Jaydah Jackson scored 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting (2-of-3 from beyond the arc) and a perfect 4-of-4 from the line. Guard Fantasia Williams added 11 points on 4-of-14 field goals (1-of-3 from three) and 2-of-2 free throws, with two rebounds and one steal. Forward Jokeyla Ryce provided defensive prowess with six rebounds and a standout six blocks.

As a team, the Statesmen shot 40.6% from the field (28-of-69), 26.7% from three (4-of-15), and 80.0% from the line (12-of-15), securing 21 rebounds, two assists, seven blocks, and five steals while committing just six turnovers.
