WBB: Kennedy-King vs. Sauk Valley

Chicago, IL - The Kennedy-King College Statesmen held off a late surge to secure a narrow 64-62 victory over the Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks on November 12, 2025, in women's basketball action at Kennedy-King Gymnasium. Kennedy-King led 29-31 at halftime but outscored their opponents 35-31 in the second half, relying on strong defense and clutch free-throw shooting.

Guard Kaylah Cherry led the Statesmen with a game-high 19 points on efficient 7-of-9 shooting (2-of-7 from three) and 3-of-4 free throws, adding three rebounds, one assist, and six steals. Guard Fantasia Williams contributed 12 points on 4-of-10 field goals (2-of-7 from beyond the arc) and 2-of-4 free throws, with two rebounds, one assist, and one block. Forward Jokeyla Ryce scored 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting, grabbing seven rebounds, one block, and one steal.

Guards Camryn Walker and Destiny Taylor each added eight points; Walker went 3-of-11 (0-of-5 from three) and 2-of-2 free throws with five rebounds, one assist, and one steal, while Taylor was 3-of-7 and 2-of-3 from the line with five rebounds, one assist, three steals, and one block. Guard Jaydah Jackson chipped in seven points on 2-of-11 shooting (2-of-4 from three) and 1-of-2 free throws, plus one rebound, two assists, and two steals.

As a team, the Statesmen shot 43.6% from the field (24-of-55), 26.1% from three (6-of-23), and 66.7% from the line (10-of-15), securing 23 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, and 13 steals.
