WBB: Kennedy-King vs. Glen Oaks

The Kennedy-King College Statesmen kicked off their 2025-26 campaign on October 31, 2025, with a solid 66-54 win against the Glen Oaks Community College Vikings, improving to 1-0. Kennedy-King overcame an early deficit, outscoring their opponents in the final three quarters behind efficient shooting and key contributions from the lineup.

Guard Fantasia Williams led the Statesmen with a team-high 15 points on 4-of-12 shooting, including 1-of-4 from three and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line, adding a rebound. Guard Kaylah Cherry contributed 13 points on efficient 4-of-5 field goals and 1-of-3 from beyond the arc, plus 4-of-8 free throws. Guard Jaydah Jackson added 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, a perfect 2-of-2 from three, and 2-of-3 free throws, with a steal.

Guard Destiny Taylor chipped in 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting and four rebounds. Guard Camryn Walker scored eight points on 3-of-8 field goals and 2-of-3 free throws, grabbing two rebounds. Forward Jokeyla Ryce provided four points, five rebounds, and a game-high five blocks. Guard Gylaisa Slagveer rounded out the scoring with four points and two rebounds.

As a team, the Statesmen shot 51.1% from the field (24-of-47), 40.0% from three (4-of-10), and 66.7% from the line (14-of-21), securing 14 rebounds and five blocks in the season-opening triumph.
