WBB: Kennedy-King vs. Southwestern Michigan

Dowagiac, MI - The Kennedy-King College Statesmen held on for a hard-fought 70-67 victory over the Southwestern Michigan Roadrunners on November 1, 2025, moving to 2-0 on the season. Kennedy-King overcame a halftime deficit with strong third and fourth quarters, fueled by balanced scoring and clutch free-throw shooting.

Guard Fantasia Williams led the Statesmen with a team-high 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting, including 1-of-2 from beyond the arc and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line, adding three rebounds and a steal. Guard Kaylah Cherry contributed 16 points on 6-of-14 field goals (1-of-2 from three) and 3-of-4 free throws, with two assists and a rebound. Guard Destiny Taylor added 15 points on efficient 4-of-8 shooting and a perfect 7-of-7 from the line, plus two rebounds, one block, and one steal.

Guard Camryn Walker scored 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting (1-of-2 from three) and two rebounds. Guard Jaydah Jackson chipped in 10 points on 4-of-10 field goals and 2-of-3 free throws.

As a team, the Statesmen shot 40.3% from the field (25-of-62), 37.5% from three (3-of-8), and an impressive 85.0% from the line (17-of-20), securing 13 rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and two steals in the close contest.
