MBB REGION 4 VIDEO: Malcolm X vs. Kennedy-King

The Malcolm X Hawks advanced to the Region 4 Men's Tournament semifinals with an 83-77 victory over the Kennedy-King Statesmen on March 4, 2025. The win improved the Hawks' record to 23-7, as they now prepare to face Kankakee in the semifinals.

Juaquin Dixon led the way for Malcolm X with an outstanding performance, scoring 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. He also contributed 6 assists and 6 rebounds, playing a crucial role in the Hawks' offense.

Collin Woods added 16 points, going a perfect 5-for-6 from the field and knocking down all 5 of his free throw attempts. He also added 3 assists and 4 steals, making a significant impact on both ends of the court. Kevin McGhee provided a spark off the bench, scoring 12 points, including 4-of-6 from three-point range.

Despite a strong first half from Kennedy-King, who trailed by just one point (45-44) at halftime, the Hawks' efficiency from beyond the arc (61.1% as a team) and their steady free-throw shooting (80%) helped them maintain their lead in a tight contest.

Malcolm X's balanced attack and defensive presence, highlighted by 9 blocks and 10 steals, sealed the victory and secured their place in Thursday's semifinal matchup against Kankakee to be played at Triton College.
