Olive-Harvey College continued its dominant run through City Colleges of Chicago women’s volleyball with a straight-set sweep of Kennedy-King College (25-4, 25-7, 25-7) on Sept. 16 at Kennedy-King.
The Panthers delivered a near-flawless performance, hitting an impressive .490 as a team and committing zero receiving errors. Sophomore Ameria Leonard led the attack with 10 kills on 13 attempts (.615) and added two aces and a block for 13 points.
Freshman setter Kamiya Butler orchestrated the offense with 14 assists and served up a match-high nine aces, contributing 13.5 points. Rayon Thigpen (Simeon) was nearly perfect at the net, recording six kills on seven swings (.857) and two blocks.
Shana Johnson added five kills (.625), while Tamar Callender chipped in three kills and four aces. Zoe Richards anchored the defense with 11 digs and two aces.
Olive-Harvey’s aggressive serving and efficient attack overwhelmed the Statesmen, who were held to just four total kills and a .038 hitting percentage.
With the win, the Panthers remain undefeated in conference play and continue to lead the City Colleges of Chicago standings.
