Truman Men’s Basketball Defeats Oakton to Extend Winning Streak to Four

No. 34 Sharif King and his Truman teammates defeated Oakton 76-60 on Saturday.
CHICAGO – A strong finish to the first half of the season saw the Truman men’s basketball team close out December with three consecutive wins.
 
The Falcons picked up where they left of as they returned from a 16-day hiatus to defeat Oakton Community College 76-60 on Saturday at the Dave Rowlands Sports Center, extending their winning streak to four in a row and improving to 7-9 for the year.
 
Truman had a shaky start, falling behind 9-0 before responding with 11 unanswered points to jump ahead 11-9.  With the exception of ties at 11-11, 13-13 and 18-18, the Falcons held the lead the remainder of the game, including 42-35 at the half.
 
Truman surged ahead by as many as 18 points in the second period and kept the margin in double figures the final 10:03 of the contest.
 
Keishun Thomas (St. Patrick H.S.) had game highs of 24 points and five assists in the triumph.  Bryson Phillips (Jones College Prep) followed with 14 points. 
 
Dusaan Allen (Schurz H.S.) topped the hosts with nine rebounds to go along with nine points.
