Truman's Justin Parker, left to right, scored 17 points, Oliver Mcall tallied 17 points for Malcolm X and Kennedy-King's Isaiah Banks finished with 19 points Thursday.
The Kennedy-King men’s basketball team defeated Olivet Nazarene University JV on Thursday, while Malcolm X lost to Parkland College and Truman fell to Kankakee Community College.
 
Kennedy-King 92, Olivet Nazarene University JV 75
CHICAGO – Five players reached double figures in scoring to help lift the Kennedy-King men’s basketball team to a 92-75 victory over Olivet Nazarene University JV on Thursday at the Willie Little Gymnasium.
 
Isaiah Banks (Broad Ripple H.S./Indianapolis, Ind.) led KKC with 19 points.  Terrell Stiger (King H.S.) added 18 points and three steals, and Sammie Davis (Tilden H.S.) chipped in 13 markers.  Larenz Smith (Mayde Creek H.S./Houston, Texas) and Jibreel Green (Hyde Park Academy) recorded 12 and 11 points, respectively.
 
Green and Malik Onyeali (Hyde Park Academy) both had five assists.
 
The Statesmen were in front 41-33 at the half and upped their surplus to as many as 29 points in the second stanza before winning by 17.
 

Parkland 84, Malcolm X 70
CHICAGO – The Malcolm X men’s basketball team owned a 38-36 halftime lead but was outscored 48-32 in the final 20 minutes in an 84-70 loss to Parkland College on Thursday at MXC.
 
Oliver McCall (Thornridge H.S.) topped the hosts with 17 points.  Jamaal Gill (Hyde Park Academy) and Jarquis Medley (Hubbard H.S.) both scored 14 points, and Mystikal Suggs (Urbana H.S.) finished with 12. 
 
In addition to his scoring contributions, Gill dished out six assists.

 
Kankakee 82, Truman 47
KANKAKEE, Ill. Justin Parker (Epic Academy) registered 17 points along with game-high totals of nine rebounds and six steals in the Truman men’s basketball team’s 82-47 loss at Kankakee Community College on Thursday.
