SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Falling just short in its bid for a season sweep against Lincoln Land Community College, the Truman men’s basketball lost 72-69 in overtime to the Loggers on Thursday at LLCC.
Truman was in front 37-35 at the half, but the hosts knotted the game at 66-66 at the conclusion of regulation to force overtime. Lincoln Land owned a 6-3 scoring advantage in the five-minute session to come away with the three-point win.
Dusaan Allen (Schurz H.S.) had game-high totals of 21 points and two blocks and tied Keishun Thomas (St. Patrick H.S.) for top honors with three steals. Allen also led the Falcons, who defeated LLCC 73-66 on Dec. 20, with eight rebounds.
Thomas and Justin Parker (Epic Academy) both doled out five assists to lead all players. Thomas capped off his strong all-around performance with 14 points.
