MBB VIDEO: Olive-Harvey vs Malcolm X

The Malcolm X Hawks continued their dominant form, improving to 13-4 (5-0) overall and staying undefeated in conference play with a decisive 115-77 road victory over the Olive-Harvey Panthers, who dropped to 5-14 (1-2) on the season.

The Hawks were in control from the outset, leading 51-40 at halftime before outscoring the Panthers 64-37 in the second half. Juaquin Dixon led the charge for Malcolm X with an impressive 23 points on 9-14 shooting, while also contributing 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Jaloni Johnson added 21 points, going 7-13 from the field and knocking down 6 of his 7 free throw attempts.

Malcolm X's bench also played a key role, with Kevin McGhee providing a spark with 19 points, including 3 three-pointers. The Hawks’ balanced attack was on full display as they had six players score in double figures. Their efficiency was evident, shooting 51.9% from the field and converting 81.5% from the free-throw line.

Olive-Harvey struggled to keep pace, despite a strong showing from Christopher Hammond Jr., who finished with 17 points, including three 3-pointers. Jessie Bates added 14 points, but the Panthers were hindered by turnovers, committing 26 in total. Their shooting struggles at the free-throw line (23-43, 53.5%) also made it difficult for them to close the gap.

Malcolm X dominated the glass, outrebounding Olive-Harvey 49-14, and their defense stifled the Panthers in the second half. The Hawks' depth, ball movement (25 assists), and defensive intensity (12 steals) proved too much for Olive-Harvey to handle.
