Richard J. Daley College broke through in the final minutes to secure a 2-0 victory over Malcolm X College on Oct. 15 at 4830 S Western Ave, with clutch finishing and a strong defensive effort leading the way.
The Bulldogs remained patient through a scoreless first half before Marco Hernandez broke the deadlock in the 88th minute with an unassisted strike. Just two minutes later, Angel Diaz added the insurance goal, finishing off a pass from goalkeeper Tre Campbell, who also earned the win with a clean sheet and three saves.
Daley’s attack was relentless, registering 30 shots and 10 on goal, with Samuel Martinez, Joel Vasquez, and Rodrigo Benitez helping control possession and apply pressure throughout the match.
On the defensive end, Shaheen Chebil and Berimah Mintah anchored the back line, keeping the Hawks off the scoreboard and limiting their chances.
