WBB: Allen's Double-Double Helps Malcolm X Roll Past Wright

CHICAGO — Malcolm X College overwhelmed Wilbur Wright College from the opening tip, racing to a 108–24 victory on Jan. 27 in a Region IV women’s basketball matchup.

Malcolm X opened the game with a dominant 39–2 first quarter and never looked back, shooting 53.9 percent from the field and forcing 37 steals. Nia Allen powered the Hawks with 33 points and 11 rebounds, going 14-for-24 from the floor while adding four assists and three steals.

Lakayla Hudson added 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including four 3-pointers, and dished out six assists. Christin Brewer scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Kenosha Walker posted 12 points, 12 boards and seven blocks in a strong all-around performance.

Oluwabukola Onigbinde chipped in 12 points and six steals for Malcolm X, which outscored Wright in every period and finished with 29 assists on 48 made baskets.

Wright scored steadily in the fourth quarter but was unable to keep pace with Malcolm X’s pressure defense and transition scoring.
