WBB: Hawks Dominate Second Half in 76-48 Rout of Phantoms

CHICAGO — Christin Brewer scored a team-high 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting with six made free throws and four rebounds, and Nia Allen delivered a double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and five steals as Malcolm X College pulled away for a 76-48 victory over East West University on Wednesday night.

Lakayla Hudson sparked the bench with 15 points, eight rebounds and two blocks, while Zoe Fletcher added 12 points, four assists and three steals for the Hawks, who overcame a sluggish start—trailing 32-20 at halftime—by exploding for 56 points in the second half while holding East West to just 16.

Kenosha Walker contributed eight points, a game-high 12 rebounds, seven blocks and four assists, and Oluwabukola Onigbinde chipped in seven points, five rebounds and four assists off the bench.

Malcolm X shot 43.9 percent from the field and 30 percent from beyond the arc while dominating the glass with 44 rebounds, blocking nine shots and collecting 12 steals as a team despite 30 turnovers in the home win.
