Games of the Year: Truman Picks Up Big Win Over Joliet

Throughout the summer, we will recap the top on field and on court moments with the CCC Games of the Year.

Truman remained unbeaten in men’s soccer play with a gritty 1-0 win over Joliet on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, improving to 9-0 on the season.

The match was a defensive battle until the 82nd minute, when Arran MacMaster broke the deadlock with a penalty kick goal to give the Falcons the lead. The goal proved decisive as Truman held off a late surge from the Wolves.

Goalkeeper Oliver Bewell was stellar in net, recording five saves to earn the shutout and secure the win. Joliet’s Ivan Escatel made seven saves in a strong performance despite the loss.

Joliet outshot Truman 12-0, including eight shots on goal, but the Falcons’ defense held firm throughout the match. The Wolves also suffered a setback in the 80th minute when defender Adrian Maldonado was sent off with a red card following a second yellow.
